Help Roger Masonbrink's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
My name is Jordan Masonbrink. I am the daughter of Roger and Christy Masonbrink, in whom this fundraiser is for. Roger and Christy share 5 children: Melissa Masonbrink, Rick Masonbrink, Jordan Masonbrink, Jase Masonbrink, and Jacob Masonbrink. Roger's greatest joy is being at home with his grandchildren. We are hoping to raise enough to assist them with needs during this hard time and in hopes to get him well enough to bring him home where he belongs, in which we don't know at this time what that will entail with him at home but are praying that we get to get to that point just to have him home. He has a long road ahead of him once he is stable enough.

We are putting together this fundraiser in hopes to assist our parents with medical expenses, gas expenses, and to assist with utilities, and anything else they would need during this hard time while our father is hospitalized, and our mother is unable to work.

Around 2002, Roger was diagnosed with diabetes. He worked at Pella for many years before he had to retire due to health complications in 2008. In 2015, he was diagnosed with kidney failure and began dialysis until 2018. It was then, on September 12, 2018, that he was able to get his kidney transplant after 4 failed attempts due to issues with the donated kidneys. Over the years, he has had many hospitalizations, some back-to-back. On February 4, 2025, Roger was hospitalized at Community Hospital of Fairfax with a diagnosis of pneumonia and RSV. Issues arose at the time with infection on two of his toes on his right foot. On March 6, 2025, he had to have those two toes amputated at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha, Nebraska. He had some increased health concerns after being home for a few days and was then admitted to Community Hospital of Fairfax on March 9, 2025. Pneumonia and infection at the amputation site were his diagnoses during this stay. He remained at the hospital for some time before showing increased signs of declining health and was transferred to CHI Immanuel in Omaha where he was diagnosed with sepsis, pneumonia, bronchitis, OG coronavirus, staph infection, and a vascular rash due to the infection and anti-rejection medication he has to take from his kidney transplant. He has been intubated twice since his stay in Omaha and is currently on a vent. He will also need another surgery, once he is strong enough or more stable, to have another amputation due to the most recent amputation not being successful related to his vascular system not working from about his knee down to his toes.

Anything helps! Please sent prayers! I will update as I am able to. Thank you all and God Bless!
