<div>Todos conocemos a Rod “Rod Marley” que con su voz acompañando las bandas locales de manera recurrente en el floating bar, Bibis, loco dave o las noches de Karaoke que llenan de felicidad, alegría y transmite su energía al público local y visitantes de esta hermosa isla. Sabemos que es un Hombre fuerte y no le gusta pedir ayuda pero la noche de Julio 17 de 2025 ha sufrido un accidente en el cual su quijada se ha visto fracturada (Maxilar inferior, ver imágenes), Se ha realizado radiografías en el hospital de Isla Colon días después ya que mantenía mucho dolor e incomodidad para abrir la boca. Hoy en día no puede comer sólidos, masticar y no puede esforzarse en hablar.

<div>Necesita con urgencia salir de la isla para realizarse una cirugía ya que no es posible realizarla en la isla. Se ha buscado varias referencias médicas y se indica que urge una cirugía de emergencia ya que está afectando el nervio y puede perder movimiento en la boca y quedar con parálisis facial. Rod es un miembro de la comunidad de Isla Colón que siempre está dispuesto a apoyar todas las actividades y ser un miembro en pro de su gente y siempre ha sido una persona que brinda ayuda sin esperar nada a cambio.

<div>Ya que el costo de la cirugía, medicinas, dinero para recuperarse hasta que pueda volver a trabajar y transporte hacia Soná donde puede ser cuidado los primeros días después de su cirugía es muy alto (más de $9,000) solicitamos su apoyo para que pueda con urgencia realizarse ésta cirugía. Entre más días pasan mas severo está volviendo su condición, poniendolo al riesgo de efectos permanentes de no poder usar el lado derecho de su cara.

<div>We all know Rod “Rod Marley,” whose voice has frequently accompanied local bands at the Floating Bar, Bibis, Loco Dave, or during karaoke nights, filling the air with happiness, joy, and infectious energy for both locals and visitors of this beautiful island. We know he is a strong man who doesn’t like to ask for help, but on the night of July 17, 2025, he suffered an accident that fractured his jaw (mandible, see images). X-rays were taken days later at the Isla Colón hospital due to persistent pain and difficulty opening his mouth. Currently, he cannot eat solid foods, chew, and even speaking is painful.

<div>He urgently needs to leave the island for surgery, as it cannot be performed here. The hospital’s initial recommendation was simply to close the wound and let it heal on its own, but further medical consultations have confirmed that emergency surgery is critical—the injury is affecting a nerve that could lead to loss of mobility in his mouth or facial paralysis, robbing us of the chance to ever hear him sing again.

<div>Since the cost of surgery, medications, recovery expenses (until he can work again), and transportation to Soná (where he can be cared for the first days post-surgery) is very high (over $9,000), we humbly ask for your support to help him undergo this urgent procedure. With each passing day his condition is becoming more severe, putting him at risk of permanent damages, not allowing him to use the right side of his face.
