Help Robert Wray Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Robert Wray, an accomplished playwright, actor, and a friend of mine for over 30 years, has been battling colorectal cancer since being diagnosed in late 2022. He's gone through radiation, many cycles of chemotherapy, surgeries, complications from surgeries, and as the cancer has now metastasized to his liver, he's due for more chemo treatment (as well as surgery in November 2025) not to mention constant scans and visits to various doctors. As he's unable to work and has been removed from Medicaid (due to new rules, his monthly disability is about $50 over the max amount you're allowed to make and his current insurance covers a much lower percentage of the costs), he is struggling to keep up financially. While he's being as strong as possible, (and is driven to be the same funny talented creative he's always been in full healthy force), he needs a break.
Robert's always helping others. One of his favorite experiences has been volunteering for the Special Olympics where he taught the joys of pickleball to intellectually disabled youth. One of the kids that he coached, after hitting a winner, would drop her paddle, flex her arms, and yell out, "You're going down in the muscle!" This statement, (one which Robert likes to quote a lot), pretty much expresses his attitude towards cancer as he continues to fight it. If you can contribute, no matter how small the amount, it'd help one of my favorite humans in more ways than one. Thank you in advance, with blessings in addition.
