Help Rob Crovo with Leukemia Medical Costs
As some of you may have heard, my good friend Rob Crovo has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He was admitted into Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Monday, July 5th.
Rob is a 25 year old recent graduate of Merrimack College and is a long time resident of Peabody, MA. After being laid off during COVID, he had happily accepted a new job in June when what felt like a cold came on. As time progressed, symptoms worsened which led him to the emergency room at MGH. At that point, blood tests revealed something was not right and he was admitted for further testing. The doctors have determined he has AML, a type of blood cancer which is extremely rare for someone Rob's age.
This news meant that Rob has lost out on the new job opportunity, which only increases the financial burden on top of his substantial student loan debt. He turns 26 on August 2nd, which means he will no longer be covered by his parents' insurance as well.
Son of Bob & Brenda and brother to Marisa, Rob will be going through a clinical trial of Chemotherapy along with other treatments to battle this disease. He has a long but hopeful road ahead. He is in great spirits and confident that he will overcome this difficult circumstance. MGH will be his home for the foreseeable future, but he potentially could become an outpatient if his numbers keep trending in the right direction (great job so far Rob!) As you may know, medical costs can add up quickly, so anything during this tough time for Rob and his family would be so helpful. If a donation cannot be made, we would absolutely love it if you could share his story to help ease the financial uncertainty his family faces ahead.
All proceeds will be used for current and future medical expenses.
We want to thank everyone for reaching out so far; Rob, Bob, Brenda, and Marisa greatly appreciate the love and support. We are all extremely hopeful for recovery. We love you Rob!
