Hi, my name is Riley Sheehan. On April 27, I will be running the Eugene Marathon to help raise money for Rimrock Trails and the Kiefer Magical Legacy Fund. These organizations are dedicated to mental health awareness and improving accessibility to behavioral counseling services.

It is no secret that people all around us struggle with their mental health, but all too often we are blind to the internal battles even our closest friends and family experience. According to the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "more than 20% of adults live with mental illness, and about 5.5% experience serious mental illness." (Cummings, 2024)

When people finally open up and find the strength to ask for help, they often face significant financial burdens, with many opting out of care entirely.
