Help Riley Fight Cancer

On October 16th, 2017, my very good friend Donna Seagrave’s beloved dog Riley had surgery to remove a Grade 3 mast cell tumor from an area on his side, up near his spine. Riley is an 11 year old Maltese cross. He was a rescue dog and he and Donna are very close. Riley got through the surgery and recovered very well, but he still needs a total of 8 rounds of chemotherapy and lab work over the next few months. Riley's medical expenses for the surgery were just over $700 and the initial oncology visit on Nov. 9th (plus another visit for an ultrasound to make sure there weren't any other tumors) was just over $900. Each of the 8 chemo sessions are estimated to cost about $350 plus lab work, after insurance (which gave no guarantee as to how much they will actually cover). That's a total of over $2,800 just for chemotherapy and lab work!
I am trying to help Donna raise funds to take some of the financial pressure off. Donna is on a fixed disability income, so any help is very much appreciated. It's hard enough having to take care of your beloved sick dog without the stress of figuring out how to pay for his care. I know times are tough for many of us, but every little bit helps. Update: Riley got his first chemotherapy treatment on November 13th. As of yesterday, November 20th, Riley had his 2nd chemotherapy treatment and he seems to be doing very well. Six more visits to go! They are using Vinblastine, as it has less side effects than Palladia. I will continue to post updates as I get them. Thanks so much for your help!
