<li>I am asking for help for my brother, <strong>Rick Baird</strong>. He has had an extremely rough few years. He lost his partner in 2022, we lost our mom in May 2024 as well. Prior to that, we lost our father (2016) and I was diagnosed with cancer the same year.

<div><strong>He is currently in the hospital at Royal Oak Corewell 8 N room 8630. They are treating him for massive fluid build up and they need to biopsy an area in the lung. But he will have to be on blood thinners for 2-3 months before they do the biopsy is what they’re saying today. He will not be able to work on blood thinners as his job, described below, is dangerous. He currently has a pulmonary embolism and needs heart testing as well.</strong>

<div>He has a lot of health issues (autoimmune) and keeps getting up and trying to work anyway. He is a tree removal specialist (lumberjack) and that is not an easy job when you have health problems. He had a very bad fall at work from the crane a month or so ago but still managed to keep trying to work!

<div>He will work a day or two, then be in bed for a day or two recovering. He just had Covid for 2 weeks prior to being hospitalized. Can’t catch a break.
</div>
<div>He has his 3 boys living with him (one is still under 18). Electric and water are 2 months behind hoping to catch up to at least one.
</div>
<div>My husband and I have been buying groceries and helping as much as we can, but we can't keep up with all of the bills at this point on our own.
</div>
<div>With the holidays coming up, it’s getting harder to stay afloat.
</div>
<div>We aren’t normally people that ask for help much, so this isn’t something I’m used to doing.
