Hello! We are Rhyan and Chasity, a production coordinator and a documentary photographer/videographer. We are working on a documentary that centers our family history. The short synopsis is that we are embarking on a journey of reclaiming and documenting Black family history after so much of it has already been lost — how do we piece together the past to preserve it for the future before it’s completely forgotten?

Our plan is to travel to different cities where our family members are located (North Carolina, New York, and Kansas) to interview them and record their stories. While we already have some gear, there will still be things that we need (extra hard drives, lighting equipment, etc.) and travel costs will add up. We’d appreciate any amount anyone has to give, but the more money we receive, the better the project will be.
