Help Revolutionise Alcohol Recovery in Scotland

Almost everyone knows someone who struggles with alcohol dependency. In 1980 there were 369 deaths directly related to alcohol here in Scotland. In 2019 there were an astonishing 1,136. This does not include other alcohol related illnesses, relationship breakdowns, legal issues, court cases, hospital costs and children whose lives are and have been affected by alcohol: 50,000 children in Scotland live in homes where alcohol is an issue. Scotland spends £3.6 billion per annum on alcohol related issues.

Thankfully, there is a solution:

Alcohol Recovery Scotland are pioneering a programme called The Sinclair Method (TSM) which is an evidence-based, medication-assisted treatment, for alcohol dependency from Finland. This is based on Dr David J Sinclair’s 20 years of research, based around the medication, Naltrexone.  It is a process called pharmacological extinction, backed up with a tailor made, 1-2-1 programme support package, with full medical support from one of Scotland’s leading addiction doctors. To date, there have been 120 clinical trials showing a success rate of 78% for those who are compliant with The Sinclair Method (TSM) programme. Around 40% become totally abstinent, with others bringing their drinking down to the recommended NHS level and maintaining it, with no craving, which is the number one cause of relapse.

With a 78% success rate we are desperate to get the message out and start saving lives and revolutionising the options for alcohol recovery.

Founder and Director Bruce Rose, started Alcohol Recovery Scotland, a non-profit organisation. Bruce has extensive experience in alcohol and drug rehab management, lived experience of addiction himself and lost his own father to an alcohol dependency illness. Bruce is keen to raise funds to promote awareness of The Sinclair Method (TSM) throughout Scotland and help make the programme available to anyone who may need it.

Help us change the lives of individuals, families and loved ones. There is now another option for alcohol dependency.

Alcohol Recovery Scotland are the first to use The Sinclair Method (TSM) here in Scotland and due to the nature of the programme everything can be done online and there is no need to travel.

Alcohol Recovery Scotland provides support for everyone involved. They run Zoom meetings for clients and families/ loved ones and support is available for as long as it is required. Tailor-made prevention/ education talks are also available for organisations, schools and colleges.

Everybody knows someone who struggles with alcohol dependency, whether it is a family member, a friend, a friend of a friend or themselves, especially in times like these. Would you consider supporting our programme and helping us to help others. With a success rate of 78% I am sure you will now see how big an impact we could make but we cannot do it without your support.

Here are some client testimonials-

‘Before the programme I was drinking every day. Every week I was consuming about 120 -140 units of wine a week (12 bottles of wine). By week 21 I was down to 15 units for the week. I can now maintain this easily. The craving and constant thinking about alcohol has almost disappeared completely. My wife says my snoring has even stopped at night - haha’ -MM

‘Before I came to you I was drinking a bottle of wine a day and two on Sat and Sun. I am

alcohol free today but the important part is I have no cravings, no obsessive thoughts and no white knuckling it like before when I stopped drinking’ – LB

‘How do I thank you enough for saving my son’s life’ - HL
