Help reunite a refugee family!

Donation protected
We have a sponsored Syrian family who are doing well in Victoria. Unfortunately, we discovered the trauma that one person was left behind!  When the bombing started, Rehab’s brothers took their families to safety and promised to return for our family.  One brother took his family to Turkey and drove back to the area being bombed to return to them and get them out, too.  You can see what heroes they were from the photos.  The bombing was horrific.  Another brother took a brother, who we are calling by pseudonym Fin, to protect him until he is in our country, who chose a different direction, driving him south to Lebanon.    The families connected to him here have saved a remarkable $11 000 to bring him here.  I have to get at least a matching amount to be able to support him in Victoria for one full year. More would be helpful since rental rates are high in this area. We have jobs lined up for him.

The family is desperate to be reunited and fear for his safety.  We have applied through the Anglican Diocese and the United Nations to get him here.  Please help. This is such a nice family and they are torn apart inside wanting to be together.  Thank you.

who we are:

We are a registered sponsorship group with the Anglican Diocese in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
relationship with Syrian boy: Mary Gidney heads the sponsorship group.  Joan Foster is fundraising and the money will be accounted for by Mary, with receipts for tax receipts if required.
How the money will be spent: All money raised will be turned over to the diocese in an account  for the benefit of this sponsored young man to be with his family in Canada.  The accounting is strictly observed with the rules of the Canadian government and is reviewed by the diocese frequently.  There is an audit of our records.  We expect the money to be put toward his living expenses: food, board and clothing, English lessons and transportation by bus.   Money raised will be used to pay transfer fees as required by GoFundMe and the money will be withdrawn with the approval of Mary Gidney through a separate account held by Joan Foster in trust for the Anglican Diocese for Refugee Sponsors, and then controlled by the Anglican Diocese who will carry out strict oversight of disbursement of money.
