My husband and I shared a modest 32 foot Fleetwood that we we're proud to call home. It wasn't much but because we aren't materialistic folks, it was what we were happy with. After my husband worked off the Fleetwood doing landscaping and tree trimming for the seller of the camper, we were officially owners of a home on wheels. We both put in lots of work over the course of over a year to make it beautiful and remodel our vintage abode. We loved having a home in which we could change our view and follow wherever the work would take us.
The original seller lost his business and fell on hard times after succumbing to drug abuse. He told drug sellers he would give them our camper if they could find it in exchange for a debt he owed. Neither of us had a title to the camper so he figured the law wouldn't mind much even though we had text messages proving our deal. While we were at work doing landscaping, he and the drug sellers took our home. The pulled it off the cinder blocks and hid it somewhere in the woods with our dog chasing our home down the road thinking we were abandoning him. He later returned, exhausted. We lived in a tent with only the clothes on our backs for a month before the seller had a change of heart and told us where our camper was located saying its ours he'll never try to take it again. This time we have him on video saying this. When we got our home back, everything we owned was gone except 2 rain soaked trash bags of baby albums, artwork and letters all destroyed. The camper was being used as a kennel for 13 chihuahuas and we had to gut it because of the filth soaked in to the floors. By this time we lost work because all our tools were taken and our lot to park. Our ID cards and social security cards are gone and we are working to get them back. We are currently on a piece of land that has electric but no running water. We are only asking for enough help for the materials to restore our home and the plumbing supplies to hook up our water to the kind family allowing us to park on their land. We currently have to haul gallons of water and heat up on the stove to take a makeshift shower using an old gas tank. Our goal is running water therefore the plumbing supplies needed, lumber to restore our walls and floors, supplies for cabinets and a mattress. We will also take the supplies in lieu of money. We just want a place to call home again, we will do all the work, we are not the type to ask for handouts but we have no other options at this point. We are not asking for a penny more than what we need to restore our home. God bless.
