Help Resettle Family Fleeing the War!

Donation protected
This is your chance to make a difference! The world has watched the tragic situation in Ukraine escalate, and while there are many ways to donate and assist, this is an opportunity to directly contribute to the successful resettlement of a family seeking refuge in Canada.

We will be hosting a wonderful family of four from Kyiv that we have had the pleasure of getting to know over the past several weeks. Their projected arrival time is the end of May 2022 through the CUAET program. They fled Ukraine to find safety for their children. They are currently in Europe and will make the trip to Ontario upon receipt of their children's visas. They come with little more than what could fit in a suitcase.

Resettlement costs are very high, and while we can offer temporary accommodations in our home and logistical support, the family will need help covering the cost of the following items:

1. Flights from Europe
2. Regular transportation upon arrival
3. Consular, translation and application fees
4. Food and hygiene products
5. School and office supplies
6. Telephone service
7. Climate appropriate clothing
8. Rental deposit, furniture, bedding & kitchen items for transition to a permanent independent living situation

Hello! We are a Ukrainian family from Kyiv. We left our country legally on March 5, 2022. We had to do it. At first, we expected that the war would stop, but as things progressed, we realized that it was too dangerous for our family to remain in Ukraine. We fled with too little time to properly prepare for the trip and to pack everything that we would need. We have heard many good things about Canada and have decided to start our new life in this country. We really want to feel safe again!

My name is Maksym Nechytailo, I'm 50. My wife's name is Irina Koval, she's 40, and we have two children Sofia, 11, and Bohdar, 12 years old. Before the war started, I worked as a fine art teacher specializing in paint. My wife worked as a psychologist.

My wife and I have received our Canadian visas under the Ukrainian accelerated CUAET program, but we are still waiting for visas for the children. We were lucky to find a wonderful Canadian family who is ready to host us in their home near Port Stanley, Ontario, when we arrive. My English skills allow me to communicate at an intermediate level. However, my wife and children are just beginning to learn the language. We are confident that our language skills will improve within a short time. We would like to integrate into Canadian society to find a job, housing, and everything needed to start a new life. We are open to training for work and improving our ability to communicate with people.

We are optimistic about the future and believe that our children will be happy in Canada. They will be able to make friends, get an education and have a lot of new experiences. We are overwhelmed with the positive attitude that Canadians have demonstrated towards our situation! Thanks a lot to everyone who helps!!!

Any amount will be of tremendous assistance to Maksym and Irina as they get reestablished! All proceeds raised will go directly to the family upon their arrival to Canada.

Thanks again,
