Help replace car from a hit and run

I was getting on the interstate when I was hit by a car. The impact made me lose control of my vehicle and I crashed into the guard rail, and ruined my car. I make about $15,000 a year at my current job and haven't built up enough savings to cover the cost of a replacement vehicle. This is not because I'm bad at saving money, but rather because less than a month ago I was the victim of a home invasion where I was robbed at gunpoint. Because of this I lost some hours and money replacing things my job requires of me for work, as well as my other things that were taken from me. With the support of family however, I had finally started to redevelop my savings and get my life together. Today though reality hit and I am lost as to how to handle it. I don't have enough money for a car and I don't know how long I can sustain my job with Uber and hitching rides to and from work. My family is happy to help me but they cannot afford to assist me financially in buying a car, and have their own work which makes driving me to my job difficult. I thought of go fund me as a way to look for help from my community to help me get back on my feet and get on with my life. I'm hoping to raise $5,000 to help me get a used vehicle I can drive to work with. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
