I hope everyone and your houses are safe and sound. Ours not so much.My name is Jennifer Boudet Deaney. I have lived here the majority of my life. My mom, Linda Boudet, has lived in this house for 45 years. She raised her family here. Our children were raised in this house. This is our home. Then Hurricane Irma arrived. Our giant oak tree in our front yard fell through our house. It has caused wide spread leaks, a big hole in the front porch and electrical problems.There is structural damage to the roof. Furniture is ruined, the carpet is ruined and the ceiling is ruined. There are 6 of us in this house. My mom is 78 widowed, disabled and cannot get around on her own and is still getting treatment for colon cancer and now her room is destroyed. Plus having three teenagers and me and my husband with our own health issues. We are disabled as well. Now they have just put a sticker on our house saying to enter at your own risk and my mom's room is unliveable. According to the sticker, we must have a contractor and structural engineers to fix everything .And we are waiting on FEMA for help. And we do not have the funds to just go somewhere and move out. So here are the photos of the house. So, yeah really not good. A tornado split our mango tree in half, our brick wall that faces 20th Ave fell down and destroyed other trees in the backyard. Mom is sleeping in Ian's (our son)room. Know we have major electrical damage and structural damage. The ceilings are cracked in our foyer, our living room, dining room and office. When the branch hit our house, it pushed the gable(the peak) backwards. That has compromised the structural integrity. Oh, and no home owners insurance. Refused by several agencies due to the age of our house. Built in in 1943. We are setting up a Go Fund Me page to help with costs. Thank you for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers. Love y'all!!
