Hi, Im Donna Mara, Renee's sister. I am pretty sure Renee is going to be embarrassed when she sees this but I have to do something to help.
Everyone that knows Renee knows that she goes out of her way to help people, even though I am her older sister I wish I was more like her in this respect. Anyway we all know that Renee lives in and loves Puerto Rico, so much so that she uprouted her whole life and moved there to start her business Samatahiti. Well this recent storm Maria has destroyed her home her business and all belongings, she is devastated. My parenets have received one phone call and she sounds nothing like her jovial self. She could only talk for a moment as she was on a strangers phone so all we really know is that physically she is safe. She has a ticket to fly to Philadelphia on October 6 from San Juan, we are hoping to hear from her soon to inform her of this.
Now for the difficult part, this is something that is hard for me to do but I would love to help Renee get on her feet once she makes it to Philadelphia. Renee's business is based on tourist and her busy season runs from October to March, so just starting which in turn means last years money is gone. Renee had no insurance on her home and business she just carried a liability policy for her guest. Every cent she made went back into her business, helping to improve and make it grow. Her home and land were paid in full but with no insurance they are just a loss for her. All who know Renee know how she goes out of her way for others, I'm certain that even now she is doing all she can to help those around her. She is flying to Philadelphia with the clothes on her back and little else. If you can find it in your heart to help it would be greatly appreciated. I am not good with words and even worse asking for help and this description is not giving Renee the credit that she deserves, but if would like to help belive me she would be so greatful. I can promise you this Renee will pay it forward.
