Hi, my name is Shannon, and I am the sister of Renee Thomas. Renee is a wonderful sister, daughter, auntie, and mom to her pup Yoshi. She always has a smile on her face and loves to travel and meet new friends. Renee has never met a stranger. She is a wonderful people person and a wonderful part of our family. Renee has always gone above and beyond to help everyone she can. She is a hard worker and has never let anything stop her. She has helped so many people throughout the years and now I am asking for help to help her in the days ahead.

Renee was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma over 2 years ago and went through chemo and radiation. She went to a follow-up PET scan in January this year and the cancer has returned. She has a tumor around the size of 1 1/2 inches on the left side next to her airway. After meeting with her oncologist here in Oklahoma, they referred her to MD Anderson. She has already met with doctors at MD Anderson two times. They agree that her best chance of having the cancer gone is to have the tumor removed completely as synovial sarcoma is an aggressive soft tissue cancer. The doctors and surgeons are going to operate on her in July to try and remove all the tumor. It will be an open chest surgery and will require several weeks of healing with chemo to follow.

As many of you know, Renee is a single person on a single income. I am setting up this fund to help Renee pay for travel expenses to MD Anderson and for help with food and care while she recovers.
