Help (re)Move Mountains for Mand

As some of you already know, my sibling, Mand Von Alt, recently came out as transgender. We both truly appreciate the outpouring of support from our friends and family—It has been really heartwarming.
As a kid, it was obvious to Mand that they were different, and I remember them crying at a young age that they were a boy. At 13, they came out as gay, but something still wasn’t right. They’re now 27 and finally ready to show the world who they really are, with a body that matches.
Understandably, it is very important to Mand to have FTM top surgery (breast removal). With your help, we can give Mand a better quality of life.
While Mand has already taken the necessary steps to prepare for this procedure, unfortunately, this is considered “cosmetic” surgery and insurance does not help with the cost and now we need your financial help with the next step in this process.
Having this surgery will allow Mand to live confidently in a body that better suits them. This is a costly surgery (quoted at $7150) and will also require aftercare, and for Mand to take 4 to 6 weeks off from work to heal. This alone will cost $1000+, as Mand will have less income during that time.
Just seeing the incredible difference in Mand’s happiness and confidence over the last few months has been tremendous, and I’m asking you, our friends and family to pitch in and help support Mand during this period of transition. Your donation will help transform their life.
If you don’t know Mand, they are truly one of the most compassionate, warm-hearted people I have ever met, and they just happen to be my best friend. They are someone who is always there for others, and NEVER hesitates to help local animals in distress. Plus, they are a longtime vegetarian!
