Help Refugee Saha Get To Uni

Saha fled Iran alone as an 18 year old girl, after protesting for women's rights and being imprisoned. She arrived in Australia and was immediately found to be a genuine refugee. She lives here permanently, works full time and is a special part of the Brisbane community.

I came to know Saha through a group called Mums4Refugees, and she has become an important person in the lives of my three sons. She shows amazing strength, warmth and optimism. 

She dreams of becoming a psychologist and has the experience and insight to make a wonderful contribution. However, because of the circumstance and time of her arrival, the government says she cannot have a permanent humanitarian visa. She was detained for years, and now must continuously reapply for rolling temporary visas. And this means she has to pay international student fees to attend uni. 

 Without any government assistance at all, all her pay goes towards living expenses. I and all members of Mums4Refugees are committed to making her dream happen by helping her attend university. 

Saha aims to start a Diploma of Social and Psychological Sciences at Griffith College in Brisbane in February. We need $10 000 in three payments to get Saha through her Diploma in Psychological Studies at Griffith College. The first payment is due at the end of January.

I will be sending the money from this campaign directly to Griffith College fees for the first payment, with the remaining funds being transferred to Saha's own bank account to fund her ongoing study.
