Help Refugee Family Access Work
We are volunteering for the International Rescue Committee, helping a family of Afghani refugees get settled in Maryland. The family of five, parents, a 10th grader, 6th grader, and 3rd grader, are extremely bright and hard working. The father works six days a week at a bakery and the children are excellent students and highly motivated. Read this inspiring story about the eldest daughter who wants to become an astronaut.
We are raising funds to give this amazing family tools to access work, healthcare, and school assignments. They live in an isolated apartment buidling -- a car and computer will change their lives.
Donations will fund:
$150 - costs to acquire a drivers' license: Farsi interpreter, fees, etc.
$500 - fees to acquire a car (taxes, tags, title)
$750 - car through Vehicles for Change
$250 - Chromebook
We are very grateful for any level of support you can provide this wonderful family.
