<div>On Tuesday, July 2nd, I took a bad fall off of my bicycle that landed me in the Emergency Trauma room at University Hospital. When I fell, I broke my collarbone and hip. I also fractured a disc, T5, and broke ribs #3 and 4 on my right side. One of the broken ribs punctured my lung, causing a pleural effusion, a life-threatening condition where trapped air in the pleural space causes the lungs to collapse. Thank God for the caregivers who saved me. They installed chest tubes to drain the air, preventing the lung from reinflating. The following day, I had hip surgery. I spent 4 days there and was discharged in the evening on 7/4.

<div>I was released but had to return a few days later due to intense pain in the collarbone area.

<div>The doctors took an X-ray and saw that the injury is getting worse.

</div>

<div>Today is 7/17, and today I was informed that I will need a second surgery to set my collarbone and use some type of bolts to keep it in place while it heals. The surgery is scheduled for 7/24.

<div>I was riding my bike because my van has broken down beyond repair.

</div>

<div>I am hoping to raise enough money to buy a $2,000 car and have enough cash to get by for about 8 weeks. That is when I hope to be healed and able to work again.
