<div>On 24 May 2025, the Taree region was devastated by one-in-500-year flooding event, that caused catastrophic damage to two local AIDA members dental clinics:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Manning Valley Dental, 1 Manning Street, Taree NSW – owned by Dr. Rupesh Phirangi
</div>
<div>Prakhya Dental, 24 Pulteney Street, Taree NSW – owned by Dr. Phani Prakhya
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Manning River is flooding at a level never seen before at Taree, surpassing the previous 1929 record of six metres early that morning—and the waters are still rising.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For the first time in nearly a century of combined service, both clinics were inundated by floodwaters that reached waist height. The damage was catastrophic—dental chairs, sterilisation rooms, x-ray machines, IT systems, and clinic infrastructure were all submerged and likely unsalvageable. These practices now face closure while repairs and recovery are assessed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>These two clinics serve as critical dental care providers for a 100km radius—supporting patients from nearby towns and remote communities who rely on their services for oral health and emergency care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>️ Why We Need Your Help
</div>
<div>While both practices are doing everything they can to recover, the road ahead is long and costly. Your support will help:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Replace essential dental equipment
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Restore and refurbish clinic facilities
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Support staff wages and job security during downtime
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Reopen access to essential health services for the community
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution—no matter how small—brings these practices one step closer to reopening. If you are unable to give, simply sharing this fundraiser with others can make a big difference.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Photos of the damage are available to show the full extent of the devastation.
