Posh Nails is a beauty salon located in Billings, MT, owned by my family and operated for 9+ years.
On 5/31/19, a driver plowed through the building severely damaging the salon, and pinning the owner, my aunt, Susan Martinez under a truck and mountains of rubble. By a miracle, she is still alive but is dealing with severe 2nd degree burns on both of her legs from the exhaust system under the truck, as well as badly bruised ribs.
Sharon Wick, my mother and a worker at Posh, and two customers were also in the building at the time. She was struck in the back by falling debris while trying to dig Susan out of the rubble, before realizing the truck was on top of her and nothing could be done until firefighters and Search and Rescue responded 10 minutes later.
The salon is completely destroyed, firefighters worked tirelessly to keep the roof from collapsing further.
To make matters worse, the driver had a suspended license and no insurance, so getting any sort of insurance help for medical bills will be nearly impossible. Many of the ladies working in here rented booths and therefore are also ineligible for unemployement benefits, leaving them without an income stream while searching for a new place to rebuild.
The money donated will go towards medical bills, relocation expenses, and living costs for the self-employed workers who cannot claim unemployment while they either wait for Posh to be rebuilt/relocated or find another job.
