“Oh my god.”
“I cannot imagine.”
“I’m so sorry.”

These are all things that have come to our minds as we’ve heard that Annette has lost her house and both she and Shannon have lost their home.

“How can I help?”

There are many ways but this is one you can do quickly to show your support.

Without warning, they had to leave their home to escape the Alameda fire.  What transpired in such a short time was remarkable and a nightmare.  Imagine your home, your hard work and years of memories tangibly gone in a moment.

Do you want to help bring a light and hope back into this sudden darkness and help lift them up?

Sending money in support is a quick and caring step you can take.  There is fortunately insurance coverage that may take care of the longer term rebuild, but it takes time to get response in events like this.  The list of what they need is innumerable and your support can help make what seems impossible to get through feel possible.

How will the money be used?  That is for Annette and Shannon to share and decide.  Items of comfort, items of need, food, shelter – any of these is possible.

If you’re fortunate enough to know Annette, you know a woman who has helped her community, peers, friends and families immeasurably.  If you’re in the area she won’t hesitate to open her home and treat you like family.  Let’s show Annette how much she means to us and how we are here to help her now, in this time of need.

If you know Shannon, you know how she is that bright light that brings you joy anytime you see her.  Let’s help shine that light on Shannon right now when she has lost the comfort of her space.

Both Annette and Shannon know this crowd fundraiser was created and appreciate the offerings of support they have received to date.  There is a lot of work to be done.  They need some comfort and having financial means to get through this will help.  Both suffered job loss due to the pandemic.  Things were down and now they hit rock bottom.  Please, let’s up lift them back up again.

Please share this post publicly as they can use the support.  Thank you.
