HELP REBUILD FOSTER PARROTS

Foster Parrots and The New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary has been operating for over 30 years offering lifetime sanctuary for unwanted, abused, and abandoned parrots. We are located in Southern Rhode Island where we care for over 400 animals who call Foster Parrots home. 
On April 1st, 2021 we suffered a devastating fire at our sanctuary facility. We lost the lives of 80 to 100 beloved animals, who each had beautiful and unique personalities, and who were loved dearly by the staff and volunteers.
All of the surviving animals are currently safe and stable. We have a long road ahead as we continue to care for the residents and begin rebuilding from the ground up. 

The building we are in now will need to be completely rebuilt. This is the beginning of a very long road for the animals, staff and volunteers.  Every donation goes to rebuilding a new home and caring for the hundreds of surviving animals who still call Foster Parrots home. Our new facility design will need to include many safety and quality of life upgrades including a sprinkler system, updated climate control and ventilation, veterinary treatment space, kitchen and food prep area, educational space and more.
As a member of the Foster Parrots community, I can say we will never recover from the losses of so many precious animals. Yet as we grieve we must focus on our survivors and rebuild their home. We need the support of our community now more than ever.

We would like to thank our local fire departments whose rapid response saved the lives of many of our birds. We also want to thank our community and everyone who has reached out to us to offer support at this time. We are still assessing the situation and working to get organized.
