My parents and the deveststing event were covered on the FRONT PAGE of Newsday 8/25. the details of the story are covered on page 2-3 of the 8/25 paper. My parents' house flooded and had to be evacuated in the middle of the night with their precious dog, Sophia. They just put all of their savings into improving the house that they just moved into this April.

Insurance does not cover this damage unfortunately. They need support to rebuild and provide the best home for Sophia, who was a rescue dog that has become central to my parents' lives. They had to be rescued by first responders and left with the clothes on their back. We are seeking support to help them get back on their feet.
