Help Rebuild Family Houses Afected By Earthquake

We opened this account to raise funds with the intention of helping close relatives in Haiti who have been affected by the earthquake. The situation in Haiti is complicated, in addition to the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred on August 14, 2021 in the south of the country, this has caused many people to lose their homes and lives. On the outskirts of Camp-Perrin, near Les Cayes, the two houses of my relatives have collapsed, luckily only materials have been lost, even so they have been left without a house in the hurricane and cyclone season as well as without a home until it is possible for them to rebuild them.

The houses belong to two families with three children each. In 2017, during a trip to Haiti, I went to visit them and I have a couple of photos of one of the houses that is now collapsed. Two days before visiting them on that trip, a cyclone hit and fell several trees on their land. My relatives are people who work hard cultivating their land in order to survive and sell their fruits and vegetables in markets. During cyclone seasons they have the fear and uncertainty of not knowing if the cyclones will punish their harvest and they will lose part of their income as a result.

With this situation, children can be affected by not being able to go to school as parents cannot bear the cost of school, among other things.

The funds that we manage to raise with your help will be used both for day-to-day expenses, as well as to pay for schools for the children, to help buy better quality materials to rebuild the houses and everything that can be done with the money , with the intention of being able to provide help and support to these two families.

Any donation is welcome, no matter how small it can make a difference in their situation.

Abrimos esta cuenta para recaudar fondos con la intención de ayudar a familiares cercanos en Haití que se han visto afectados por el terremoto. La situación en Haití es complicada, a eso se suma el terremoto de 7.2 de magnitud ocurrido el dia 14 de Agosto de 2021 en el sur del pais, esto ha causado que mucha gente pierda sus viviendas y la vida. A las afueras de Camp-Perrin, cerca de Les Cayes, las dos casas de mis familiares se han derrumbado, por suerte solo han sido perdidas materiales, aun así se han quedado sin casa en temporada de huracanes y ciclones además de sin vivienda hasta que les sea posible reconstruirlas.

Las casas pertenecen a dos familias con tres hijos cada uno. En 2017 durante un viaje a Haití fuí a visitarlos y tengo un par de fotos de como era una de las casas que ahora esta derrumbada. Dos días antes de visitarlos en aquel viaje, paso un ciclón que derrumbó varios arboles en sus terrenos, mis familiares son gente que trabaja duro cultivando sus tierras para poder sobrevivir y vender sus frutas y verduras en mercados. Durante las temporadas de ciclones tienen el miedo e incertidumbre de no saber si los ciclones les castigarán la cosecha y perderán parte de sus ingresos debido a ello.

Con esta situación los niños de pueden verse afectados al no poder ir al colegio al no poder los padres hacerse cargo del coste del colegio, entres otras cosas.

Los fondos que consigamos recaudar con vuestra ayuda serán utilizados tanto para los gastos del día a día, como para pagar los colegios para los niños, ayudar a comprar materiales de mejor calidad para reconstruir las casas y todo lo que se pueda conseguir hacer con el dinero, con la intención de poder brindarles ayuda y apoyo a estas dos familias.
