Nikki, who is 8 months pregnant, had been separated from her boyfriend, Chad, for months. But Chad refused to accept her decision to end the relationship. That night, he took Nikki and her children at gunpoint, and after subjecting Nikki to unspeakable violence, he forced the family into their van, which he then stole.
