<div>This is a really hard message to write, but I will try to be clear and thoughtful. Last night, a fire broke out at Cambria (Owen’s mom) and Owen’s (my son) 12th floor apartment. They were not there, Owen was with me at our new place. That being said, the fire and smoke engulfed the entire apartment and our beloved dog and cat, Domingo and Xena, did not make it. We arrived on scene at 9pm to the apartment 90% destroyed by water, smoke, and fire.

<div>Additionally, all of Cambria’s and Owen’s material possessions from the apartment are at this moment either gone, a question of recovery - clothes, family heirlooms, memories, everything. We will need to rebuild everything Owen had at that apartment, and all of Cambria’s things.

<div>We loved Domingo and Xena, even through everything that has happened in the past few years - we continued to give them the happiest lives that we could. They were a true mirror of our happiness and care, Domingo was like a brother to Owen. Xena like a sister. We took pride in continuing to love and support our animals, even through a divorce and learning to co-parent. It is the biggest loss of this mess and at this moment we’re still in shock trying to figure out how to properly serve their passing and provide closure for Owen.

<div>There is an immediate need for support on lots of things but inside of our network, and my house, we are able to house Owen and Cam. We are working on immediate needs like clothes, a temporary enclosure for Sunny (Owen’s snake that miraculously survived), cremation costs, and more. We’re figuring this out as we go with insurances and restoration companies, and all the business of it but in this moment of complete destabilization for Cam and Owen any support for this life altering event would go a long way.
