On August 6, 2025, a tragic fire broke out in the Medeu district of Almaty, Kazakhstan, destroying the home of a dear friend Karina and her family. In a matter of minutes, everything they owned — memories, clothing, furniture, their sense of security — was reduced to ashes.

The fire tore through the roof and over 170 square meters of their house, leaving it unlivable. Thankfully, no lives were lost, but the family — a mother, her daughter, and her young child — are now left with no home, no shelter, and no belongings.

This family is now facing the unimaginable — rebuilding their lives from the ground up. They urgently need:

Temporary housing

Construction materials to restore at least a livable section of the home

Basic furniture, clothing, and household essentials

Emotional and physical stability for the child and her mother

We’re raising funds to help them rebuild a safe and livable part of their home, so they can begin to feel grounded again. They’re not asking for luxury — just a roof, walls, and a warm place to sleep.
