Hello, my name is Kelly. I am raising money for my dear friend Rebecca Carnahan. We are both 2nd level Nursing students at Lansing Community College.
Three years ago, just after Rebecca went back to school to become a nurse, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast and ovarian cancer. She battled hard, undergoing several surgeries and many forms of treatment and was finally told she had beaten it. Last week she was told by her doctor that the cancer is back.
She is ready to fight again but the costs of treatment (chemotherapy combined with immunotherapies) are high and she is already struggling to make ends meet with the costs of going to nursing school.
Anyone that knows Rebecca knows that she is the quintessential caretaker of others and is in a perpetual state of giving, including spending her spare time volunteering with the elderly at a local assisted living facility. Now, she needs our help and support so that she can continue to help and heal others for many years to come.
