Help Reaghan Have Hair!

In Scotland, our NHS is brilliant! Cancer patients can get a prescription for a synthetic wig. Our hair plays a big part in how we see ourselves, how we express our personality. Many women love their hair and lavish hours of care and oodles of money on products to make it thick, shiny and beautiful.
 
Wouldn’t it be precious if a woman with breast cancer could keep her hair? Would you agree a wig made from real human hair could be the next best thing? She’d be able to style it or not, depending on her mood — GHD curls or a messy bun. Set it on rollers or whip it into a ponytail. Even have an up-do at the salon. It would bring a little bit of normal back into her day, give her a touch more dignity.

Human hair wigs are expensive; that’s why Scotland’s NHS offer synthetic ones. I want to offer women with breast cancer the chance to buy a human hair wig. As many of those women as possible. That’s where you come in. All donations will go towards full or partial payment of a human hair wig for Scottish women with breast cancer.

Why is this a big deal to me? I’ve just been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s the most common form of cancer now in the UK. And though I’m completely rubbish at doing my hair, I know loads of other women going through chemo are devastated to lose theirs. I’d like us all to pull together and try to make someone’s life a little more bearable. That’s why I’m shaving all my hair off before my treatment starts to help raise money and awareness about this particular issue.
