The Rotary Club of World Disability Advocacy believes every child deserves an educational environment to learn, grow, and belong. But for millions of children with disabilities, that fundamental right is not being met.
Imagine being a non-verbal autistic child placed in a mainstream classroom—with no support, no tools, and no understanding. One mother called it “dangerous.” She’s not alone.
The reality:
• 1 in 10 children with disabilities are out of school—twice the rate of their peers (UNESCO).
• In some countries, only 61% of children with disabilities attend school, compared to 91% of others.
• Special education funding is falling short globally, overwhelming families and educators.
We refuse to accept this.
