Help Ray Fight Cancer

Donation protected
We have set up this page to raise funds for cancer treatment for my brother, Ray Mills.

Ray was diagnosed on December 9, 2017 with a very fast-growing cancer called Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, Double Expressor.  Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive type of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

UPDATE 5/2/2018

We would like to thank everyone that prayed for my brother, our family and also those that contributed to help him fight against cancer. God always answers our heartfelt prayers, although sometimes not how we ask. Yesterday God took Ray home to be with his beloved Savior, Jesus Christ. We know Ray is totally healed and no longer in any pain. The loss our family feels is real, but the hope and promise to see him again one day is ever lasting. It continues to give us strength. If we may ask, please continue to pray for that strength as we work to fulfill Ray's final earthly wishes. He emphasized many times the importance that everyone know his hope and faith in the Lord was real and he was assured his place in heaven because he had, long ago, put his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior that died on the cross for his sins (for all sins) and had risen again three days later. Jesus was waiting on my brother and waits for any remaining that takes their salvation on faith in Him.

Please know that, although Ray is no longer in treatment,  any remaining funds are being used to offset his final expenses. Thank you for continued prayers. We are deeply grateful for each of you.

UPDATE 4/4/2018

Ray has now been in the hospital for the last 13 days and is still receiving IVs for hydration.  A new Petscan has revealed a second tumor in his abdomen, located near his aorta artery. Currently, Ray is unable to eat or drink anything by mouth because the tumors prevent food or liquids from leaving his stomach.  A feeding tube has been surgically inserted into the small intestine to try and bypass the stomach.  However, even with this bypass, Ray is having trouble processing the nutritional formula.

After two treatments of chemo, the main tumor  decreased in size slightly, but the second tumor and other cancerous lymph nodes in other areas have actually grown larger. His oncologists say Ray is too weak to tolerate further chemo. Even if he could handle it, his doctors are not optimistic about the chemo stopping the tumors from spreading further.

Ray feels the doctors have done all that they can do, but he is not giving up.  He greatly wants to try something else.  There is a clinic in the area that offers High Dose Intravenous Vitamin C Therapy.  There is a peer-reviewed study published by the National Institute of Health (NIH) which shows this therapy can be effective for treating lymphoma.  You can read that case study here at this link:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1405876/  (scroll down and read the "Patient 3" case study)

This treatment is expensive and not covered by Medicaid.  The cost is around $500 per week.

Additionally, there is a medicine produced in Germany that Ray wants to try along side the IV treatment.  It is a plant based extract which Ray can self-administer through injections.  The first round has been ordered.  The cost to continue that treatment is around $200 per week.

There is some money left in the GoFundMe account from previous donations, but with the $700/week cost of these two treatments, that money will be gone in less than three weeks.

We are asking for your help so that Ray can afford these treatments.  Ray believes this is his last chance to stop this cancer.  He is not ready to give up.  If you can make a donation, you will be helping to give Ray a fighting chance.

Also, it is important to share Ray's video and this GoFundMe page far and wide.

Thank You!

UPDATE 2/17/18

Ray is out of the hospital.  He will be going for his second round of chemo soon. The Dr has already warned that it will have difficult side effects. Due to the size of the tumor, eating solid food continues to be a challenge.

The hope is that the chemo will shrink the tumor and put the Lymphoma into remission. However, lymphoma is notorious for returning after being put into remission via chemotherapy. Therefore, Ray will need to continue with organic juicing, targeted supplements and other means to prevent recurrence.

We are extremely grateful for the support thus far.
Since Ray is unable to work, he has no source of income. Donations are needed to help with the cost of organic fruits and vegetables and supplements and other therapies.

UPDATE  1/30/18

A new CT scan shows that the main tumor and additional malignant lymph nodes have grown much more rapidly than the Dr's projected in December 2017. Their enormous bulk now presents an immediate, life-threatening situation directly to his urinary and gastrointestinal functions. The only option for emergency reduction of their size is a modified chemotherapeutic regimen despite the high degree of risk it poses due to Ray's pre-existing condition. This emergency measure is now underway, while IV hydration continues around the clock. A follow-up with the previously mentioned comprehensive metabolic treatments remains necessary for resolution of the cancer. As stated before, these treatments are costly and are available only on a cash basis.
We appreciate everyone that has donated, shared, and prayed. Please be assured that all donations are going to his continued health needs and care.

Due to the fast growing tumor pressing upon his stomach, Ray has reached the stage where he is no longer able to eat food or drink liquids. Currently, he is at a local hospital receiving saline IVs due to dehydration. This is only a very temporary solution since the tumor continues to expand at such a rapid rate.  Unfortunately, chemotherapy is not an option due to a pre-existing liver defect.

Ray believes his best chance of survival is to travel to a treatment center in Arizona. Unfortunately, Medicaid will not cover the cost of treatment at the Arizona clinic.

Immediate treatment is needed.  It will be equally aggressive, very rugged and expensive.  Ray has a strong will to live and is resolved to endure whatever is necessary to beat this cancer.  He is fighting for his life.  Unfortunately, he has no medical insurance nor any personal financial resources to pay for treatments and much needed care.

Things have reached a critical stage and we have to act now.

PLEASE consider a donation to help Ray get the treatment he needs to save his life.

Also, we ask that you share this GoFundMe link to your Facebook timeline and ecourage others to share as well.

We would also greatly appreciate your prayers.

Thank you so very much.
