<div>Aerotoxic Syndrome is a little-known public health disease caused by exposure to poisonous cabin air in most public transport jets, and scientific papers were first published in the USA, France and Australia in 1999, following a decade of research.
</div>

<div>After flying jets from 1989 onwards, I became seriously ill with mysterious neurological symptoms. I stopped flying prematurely in 2005 and was then tested with 26 other BALPA Union pilots and diagnosed with Aerotoxic Syndrome. I founded the Aerotoxic Association Ltd. Charity on 19th March 2007 and launched successfully at the UK Houses of Parliament, London on 18th June 2007 to help support other survivors and campaign for the known, and available, technical solutions.

<div>As the effects of Aerotoxic Syndrome also involve large amounts of money neither governments nor the aviation industry have yet to publicly recognize it, despite at least 1 million aircrew and passengers unknowingly having Aerotoxic Poisoning in Europe alone (which was published in a 2016 Dutch survey). 2 new peer reviewed UK/USA scientific papers were published in July 2022 with research that Carbon Monoxide (CO) is the main chemical of concern, although a mix of CO and Organophosphates (OPs) is closer to the reality, and the main cause of mass acute and chronic ill health of jet flyers.

<div>Common Symptoms of CO exposure and Jetlag are Dizziness, Headaches, and Fatigue.

<div>Aerotoxic Syndrome was renamed as Aerotoxic Poisoning (AP) by Aviation Minister Baroness Vere of Norbiton of the UK government on 26 May 2019.

<div>All commercial jets, apart from the Boeing 787 which has been redesigned, rely on ‘Bleed air’ where all the breathable air in an aircraft cabin, first passes through jet engines, which can become contaminated by jet engine oil, when ‘wet’ seals which are actually designed to leak oil, become more worn – a known design flaw. Bleed air is neither filtered nor monitored.

<div>Aerotoxic Syndrome is a mostly neurological ill health condition which can affect any member of the public who flies in almost any commercial jet aircraft, even on a single jet flight.
</div>

<div>It is a global health issue, but very much a Norfolk story. Two other very high profile BAe 146 pilots from Norfolk - Captains Julian Soddy and Ray Godfrey - laid down evidence from 1994 onwards with BALPA Union. Both are now dead but featured in researchable evidence.

<div>I have provided public interest evidence on a web site <a href="https://www.aerotoxic.org" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.aerotoxic.org</a> and have published 4 books on this Health and Safety issue and my flying career. I have invested time and money in factual and fictional documentary films – specifically ‘A Dark Reflection’ (ADR) which premiered at Cinema City, Norwich on 5th March 2014 and is being shown again 10 years later at St Giles House Hotel, to raise public awareness, of a by now well known to a few, yet still little known cause to the many, of mass public ill health.

<div>I now request financial contributions, only from those who can afford it, to continue this work.

<div>As well as to campaign for public awareness, I am fundraising to set up an online and physical consultancy and 1:1 expert service as soon as possible, to give advice to the public and to help and support those with Aerotoxic Syndrome. I plan to set up a Jet Lag Recovery Clinic for passengers, aircrew and medically grounded pilots to stay for rest and recuperation.
