HELP RAISE MONEY TO HELP SAVE OUR HOME & FAMILY
Donation protected
Assalamulaikum. My family are in need of help, and we have been hit with another eviction notice from our mortgage.
Our father passed away suddenly in 2018, from a brain stem stroke. This was very sudden, and he was only 48, turning 49, 3 days before his death, while he was in a 2-week induced coma. The doctors told us he had a brain haemorrhage the size of a golf ball, and as there were no brain surgeons at the hospital, we could not go ahead with an operation and his chances of surviving were nil.
My father had no life insurance or will. The major clause in his mortgage agreement stated that upon death, full payment on the rest of the house must be paid. This is around £210k figure. Since 2018, we have made every single monthly payment for the mortgage. Originally this was £407, but it then went up to £507. During the crazy mortgage rates earlier this year rising, we were unfortunately affected by this as we are on an interest-only mortgage. We now have to pay £1107 a month. We have never missed a payment for nearly 6 years, the minute our father passed away. Because it is a mortgage, we are not entitled to get housing benefits, so we have been forced to pay for this out of our own pocket, which doesn’t include all of the other bills to live. My brother works as a taxi driver and works both day and night, with only 4 hours to sleep. He hasn't had a day off and works endlessly to pay all of the bills.
I have been a young carer before my father passed away, because my mother is disabled and I have 5 younger siblings. My 13 year old brother has autism, and my 15 and 9 year old brother have severe ADHD. They all suffer from mental health issues. My mother is disabled because she has arthritis, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression and is waiting to get an operation done on her shoulders and knee. This has been paused due to the home situation. She also cannot speak any English.
I am pleading if you can help my family and I, as our only hopes now is to try and get help from the public. We have spent a lot of money on solicitors, legal advice, and other support, but nothing is working in our favour. The mortgage would like the rest of the house to be paid off in a lump sum which is in the 215000k figure, and do not want to continue with the monthly arrangement that we have been doing so since my father passed away. They are aware that my mother is disabled and ill, and that my younger siblings also have learning difficulties.
The Council have stated that they do not have a home big enough to house my younger siblings and my mother together, and that they would have to be split up. We are still grieving the death of our father, and the only thing we have left is out home full of our memories as we have lived in this home since 2004.
My family have been very reluctant to getting help from the public, and due to the fact that an eviction notice has now been issued by the County Court to leave our home by the 10th January, despite us pleading with the mortgages and the Courts to allow us to continue this monthly arrangement. The mortgage company is being brutal and frankly has no remorse for our living situation, and how much further they will cause my mother's health to deteriorate. My siblings also rely on having a stable home, as they are deemed as vulnerable children in need of support from the school from the learning support department. The mortgage company want this lump sum despite the fact that no payments have been missed to date.
If we could please raise funds to pay for the remainder amount left on the mortgage (215000k), as this is the only thing left that will allow the mortgage company to keep our home. The Courts have issued the Eviction notice, so time is now of the essence. We understand this is a big big ask from the public, but we have worked for nearly 6 years trying to this ourselves. We as a family, especially my elder brother, have worked tirelessly to save our home and to put food on our tables. We have never had a family holiday, and my brother had never been abroad, in addition to my 4 younger siblings and my mother has never returned to Bangladesh from the minute she came into this country in 1992. The remaining money will be used for the Court fees, and to fill the gap from the fees that the fundraising page take. It will also provide help with paying off money that has been used to pay for previous Solicitors, as this has caused us financial strain now.
If we could also get support from professional solicitors, legal advice, we would be so grateful, as we now rely on the Citizens Advice Bureau, and it still isn't looking as if it will be in our favour. I study Law at University and have asked my University lecturers for advice, who are all qualified solicitors, to which they have stated that this is a very complex case and needs professional help that they cannot offer.
In Islam, we are considered orphans as we do not have a father anymore, so I hope we can please get support. Allah knows best. Please respect I have not shown a picture of our family, as my family would like their identity kept private, due to the sensitivity of what we have opened up about.
Thank you for your time.
Jazakallah Khair.
