<div>Hello, my name is Geangela C. Espinal Ferrand. I’m a 32-year-old from the Dominican Republic, whose life took a turn at the age of 24 due to a stroke in the brain stem. Imagine sitting and working and suddenly falling to the ground, waking up to feel nothing, unable to move or speak. That's how it happened to me.

<div>This not only left me entirely dependent on one or more people to take care of even the most basic needs. This situation has changed the lives of my parents and my sister. After the event, I became quadriplegic. Thanks to God, my family has been very united and they help me with everything they can. However, we are now without income because my mother had to quit her job to take care of me 100%, and my father was laid off from his job three years ago. Now, he drives for Uber and does delivery for online stores, but the income is barely enough.

<div>Currently, my muscles are a bit weak due to the lack of physical, speech, and occupational therapy. I am sharing this with the purpose and hope that whoever sees this post can help me with my medications and daily rehabilitation since I will need both for the rest of my life.

<div>I know that we will never lack anything with God on our path. I am grateful to Him for how far I have come and progressed with all the effort of these years. I am well aware that I should not lose hope without exhausting all relevant avenues to raise my voice and recognize that it won't be easy without the help of those who join.

<div>Hola, mi nombre es Geangela C. Espinal Ferrand. Soy una jóven Dominicana, de 32 años que un día a mis 24 años la vida me cambió con un ACV en el tallo del cerebro. Imagina estar sentado trabajando y repentimante caer al suelo, al despertar no sentir nada, no poder moverte o hablar? Bueno pues, así fue como me sucedió a mi.

<div>Esto no sólo me dejó dependiendo completamente de una o más personas para hacer mis necesidades, hasta las más básicas. Esta situación, ha cambiado la vida de mis padres y mi hermana. Luego del evento, estoy cuadrapléjica. Gracias a Dios mi familia ha estado muy unida y me ayudan en todo hasta donde pueden, sin embargo quedamos sin ingresos porque mi madre renunció a su empleo para cuidar de mi al 100%, y mi padre hace 3 años fue despedido de su empleo, ahora hace Uber y mensajería a tiendas virtuales, aún así, el ingreso apenas alcanza.

<div>Actualmente tengo los músculos un poco atrofiados por falta de la terapia(física, del habla y ocupacional).

<div>Hago esto con el motivo y fin de que el qué vea esta publicación me estará aportando con mis medicamentos y mi rehabilitación diaria ya que ambas las necesito de por vida.

<div>Se que con Dios en nuestro camino nunca nos faltará nada, gracias le doy a el por lo lejos que he llegado y avanzado con todo el esfuerzo de estos años. Estoy bien consciente de qué no debo perder las esperanzas, sin antes agotar todo las vías pertinentes para alzar mi voz y reconocer que sin la ayuda de quienes se unan, no será tan difícil.
