Help Raiden Repair his ACL!

Donation protected
Kyle and I adopted Raiden in 2016 when he was just 6 weeks old and he immediately changed our lives.  He has always been curious, yet cautious of new things, and LOVES being outside in the sunshine.  When Raiden turned 3 months old, we noticed he developed a limp and began favoring his back left leg.  As new dog parents, we were worried and took him to the Vet right away.

After months of x-rays and different treatments to manage the pain, we discovered that his back right knee cap was not fully developed, had hip dysplasia in both hips and an onset of arthritis.  We were shocked and saddened that our little puppy was given these diagnoses.  Due to the fact that he was so young at the time, there was not much we could do as far as surgery or a permanent fix.  Throughout the next couple years we began doing exercises at home and taking him on slow walks to develop the muscles in his back legs and keep him strong and healthy.

Within the past year, we began rounds of laser therapy to help manage the pain.  We noticed that the therapy was helping, but Kyle and I knew that this would not be a permanent fix.  Within the past week, we took Raiden to an orthopedic surgeon in Charleston and discovered that he has torn his cruciate ligament, otherwise known as his ACL.  Essentially, the cartilage is no longer there and his bones rub together whenever he walks.  Now his arthritis has worsened and is moderate to severe.  In an effort to keep his ACL from tearing completley, and from the arthritis worsening, we will be taking him back to Charleston to perform surgery on his knee.  The Vet informed us that his torn ligament is a major cause in his pain and limping.  His hip dysplasia was not helping, but to perform surgery on his hips at this time would not be beneficial in the long run.

We received an estimate that the surgery will cost about $4,500 with medication and post-treatment therapy.  Any funds that are raised would go directly towards the surgery.  We are hoping to have the surgery scheduled for some time in December before Christmas.  Even if you are not able to contribute something to go towards his surgery, please share this on any social media platform, any little bit will help.

Anyone who has met Raiden knows that he is definitely a character.  He is full of love and loves nothing more than walks, catching a ball, and peanut butter.  We love him so much and want the best for his well being.  Kyle and I are greatly appreciative of anything that anyone is able to contribute.
