Help Radiant Mama support mothers & babies

The postnatal period is a crucial but much neglected time when the well being and the foundations of the family are laid. Unfortunately due to isolation, a lack of support and information, many families struggle after birth.  Over the past 8 years, Radiant Mama has been addressing this locally, providing a haven for pregnant women, mothers and babies. 


All our services are offered on a donation basis, which means that we always require extra funding to cover even our most basic running costs.  We received some Lottery funding earlier this year, which has gone some way to fund our services, but since we have doubled our offering in order to meet the growing needs, we have had a shortfall of £7000 until we can get further funding next year.

Thanks to the donations to this campaign and some money we were very fortunate to recently receive from a Trust, we have been able to start offering our two Radiant Mama groups again. We are very grateful for all the donations and the recent unexpected injection of funds!

We are still £2500 short and need to raise these funds by the end of March.  

Many local provisions for mamas and babies have closed in the past couple of years so our services are even more important.

Our weekly groups are places where mamas can be part of a community of mothers, held gently by our team of birth/family workers and physical therapists.  As well as our legendary tea and toast, mamas have been receiving breastfeeding support, information, short massages and an opportunity to share their experiences with other mums or one to one with us. Postnatal home visits, counselling and birth trauma release sessions have also been accessed by those who have needed them.

The group has stopped me feeling isolated, it has given me back a sense of self and it’s a space where mums can feel valued, cared for and supported".  Karla.


We really want to keep offering all this to the mothers in our local community and we need your help to make it possible. 

It feels quite vulnerable to ask for your support and we will gratefully receive it so new mamas can keep on accessing what they need to be more resourced to raise our next generation of children.
