Help Rachel & her family with medical care costs

3/18 Hi my name is Desiree Granstra. I am fundraising for Rachel Forbus and her family of Junction City, KS. Below is what is going on with her medically. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. She is in Topeka, KS, right now and will have travel expenses for her husband and kids to visit. Along with medical costs. She is out of work, and while short-term disability MAY be an option, it only covers a portion of her actual pay. This Go fund me page will assist with medical costs, travel, and household expenses after the loss of her income.

"I’ve been in the hospital for a week now. It’s been many questions with fewer answers, so it took me so long to come here and let everyone know what’s going on.

I was diagnosed this week with Stage 4 high-grade Lymphoma. Cancer has caused lesions on certain bones, including my hip (which is cause for the hip and leg pain many of you know I’ve had) and caused what’s called a pathological fracture. Basically, cancer weakened my bone, and my hip is broken.

Today 3/18 I will have surgery to replace my hip entirely and hopefully heal quickly so that I can start chemo as soon as possible.

I’m scared. Worried. And hurting right now. But my faith is strong and I know I can make it through this. I have the most amazing support system and the most amazing family to fight for. Please pray for my family right now, and for the fight I have ahead. "
