Hey, my name is Rachel. I am a vet tech, I rescued this sweet, handsome blind 12 year old boy in November when some lady tossed him down the hall way of my old clinic and left. My veterinarian was able to estimate his age and evaluated his health. He was not microchipped nor were we able to get any details about the lady who abandoned him. After nursing him for about a week no one was willing to foster him or take care of him. I ended up caring for him and falling in love with him while he was at the clinic and knew in my heart I couldn’t let him be given up on again. At the time his bloodwork was normal and so were his X-rays. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, I adopted him and he has been living with me since November. I have 4 cats that are rescues as well and I am 24 years old and live with my father on a vet tech salary ( which isn’t a lot). Some medical issues of his have been coming up recently such as chronic dry eye (so he needs two different eye medications twice a day), he has developed a very sensitive stomach so he eats a prescription diet food that is costly even with the small discount I get through my job. He also requires apoquel for his allergies and has tested positive for elevated liver enzymes that are needing to be treated as well. I cannot afford to treat this little guy on my own anymore. I thought about rehoming him but couldn’t find it in me to give him away, seeing as he is apart of my heart and family now. I’m not asking for much, just enough to help with food and his urgent dental work needed for his dental disease ( his teeth are rotting out of his mouth and are causing infections) I’m not sure what else to do besides this. Any amount helps as he deserves a second chance to be loved until the end. He has so much spark for his age and condition, all he needs is some help sorting out his immediate health concerns and whole lotta love. ❤️
