Help "Shorty" Fight Her Battle

They always say that God never gives us more than he knows we can handle, but Loretta "Shorty" has been dealt quite a hand.

My name is Paula.  "Shorty", as all of us who know her well call her, has been a dear friend of mine for quite some time.   We would both do for each other and would stand by each other through any tough times we've had.  

In  2003, Shorty was faced with one of the greatest battles of her life. She was diagnosed with ovarian/uterine cancer while trying to be the best mom she could for Alex, who was 4-1/2 at the time. She was able to fight through that and has been cancer free now for 14 years.

In November of 2017, Shorty went in for testing as she had not been feeling well, overly tired, and short of breath. After going to see many doctors, having many tests ran, and a week in the hospital, she has now been diagnosed with kidney failure.

While she waits for her next step in this journey with probable dialysis, she has also become anemic and will be starting iron infusions. Medical bills have been adding up fast.
