Hi! My name is Anthony Bennett. I live in Kansas City, MO. I'm a queer, BIPOC creative that graduated this year. As you all know, 2020 hasn't been the best year. I am not one to normally ask for financial assistance from others, but my current situation is too dire for my pride. I currently work as a DoorDash delivery driver as my primary source of income until I can land a full-time graphic design job. A couple of days after Halloween in New Orleans, I got into a car accident that damaged the front end of my car. I didn't report it because the person who hit me wasn't a legal US citizen and didn't want ICE to deport him. We came to an agreement that his friend would pay for the damages when I come back in December. His friend drew up a contract. I felt as if I was doing the right thing. I was able to drive my car back home safely. A few days later, I hit a steep driveway and it caused my radiator core support and the cooling fans to break. I'm not currently able to take my car back to New Orleans to get it fixed. I took it to my repairman and was notified that the repair would cost $2300. My family isn't able to help me right now. They are getting older and have their own things to pay for. Today, December 13th, I received a 3-day notice on my door. I'm so worried I'll be evicted and I don't really have a close, safe place to go during this pandemic. I'd be very sad if I'm not able to be with my family during Christmas. My family lives in Alabama. I'm trying my best to not let this crush my spirit. I need $948 of it by December 16th to avoid being evicted. Any amount you give would mean the world to me!
