Camille's story
My name is Denise Martin; I am writing to share my daughter Camille Louise Martin story. My purpose is to spread awareness of the Osteoscarcoma of the Maxillary Sinus Cavity Cancer, gain additional support and continue to keep Camille and others who has suffered or maybe going through something similar.
On April of 2017 , at 26 years old Camille was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Osteoscarcoma of the Maxillary Sinus Cavity. Initially, she had surgical removal of the entire mass and reconstruction to the orbital bone of the left eye, replaced by a metal plate. Although the entire tumor was removed, it resurfaced in another location about six weeks later appearing as a hard lump in her cheekbone. Currently, Camille has gone through extensive sessions of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. She was hospitalized on many occasions from side effects from treatments and for extensive pain. We continue to travel mostly to two hospitals , Boston Hospital and Massachusetts General ;in addition to the area hospitals in the Springfield area.
This was with hopes of getting Camille cancer free. However, this was not easy on Camille and it remained a struggle for her to manage pain and treatment. Despite all the things mentioned, my daughter continued to remain in good spirits and continued to remain strong. Despite all that has been mentioned , Camille Louise Martin lost her battle on February 17, 2020.
Camille touched the lives of so many and we will continue to keep her in our memory. We are raising money to cover the costs of her funeral and memorial services ; in addition to her medical expenses. We are grateful to any support and help that anyone can offer.
