I am making a plea to our community and beyond for my best friend Marijke and her children. She is a wonderful Mom to four beautiful kids: Aiden, Austyn, Kobe and Kiana. She is single, hard-working and works long hours at a seasonal job combining farmers fields in and around New Liskeard, Ontario.
About a year ago, she and her husband seperated... leaving much of the financial burden of raising her children on her shoulders. As her children struggled with the new reality of their lives, Marijke decided to adopt a new member into their family to help her children... a German Shepherd cross Black Lab puppy that they named Skye.
Marijke was right. Sky helped her children cope as well as provide them all with a sense of security in their new home. Skye quickly became an important and very loved member of their family and the children love her dearly.
Yesterday, on Wednesday, October 10th, Skye, who is only 10 months old, was in a horrible accident... she was hit by a car, breaking 4 bones in her left leg and foot.
Skye needs surgery to repair her leg and foot but it will cost $3,000... placing a very large financial strain on Marijke. Skye is loved deeply by Aiden, Austyn, Kobe and Kiana... she gives them comfort, love and security during this difficult time in their lives and Marijke can't bring herself to let Skye go...
We are looking for community support to gove Skye a chance to heal and grow up with her family who love and need her.
