Hi! My name is Joryn Burns and I am the president of Women Empowering Women at Indiana University Bloomington. For the past several months, I have been working on creating a magazine -- Women Empowering Women: Thrive in Bloom. It is a publication that is focused on highlighting women/queer-owned businesses in Bloomington, Indiana. However, it turned into a piece that also includes advice from our members on restaurants, study spots, clothing, general advice, etc. Although it is available online via Canva, my dream is to have it published and shared across the community. In cafes, doctor's offices, and on campus, my hope is to inspire young students to try new things and go outside of their comfort zones.

When I first began this project, I wanted it to just be for our members, but after spending countless nights working on perfecting this project, I want other community members to be able to access it. I applied for a grant but was denied unfortunately, which is why I am making this GoFundMe. I do not want to use Women Empowering Women's money because this is my own project, and since we are newly affiliated with IU, our funds are slim. I would love it if you were able to donate, but I know that is not possible for everyone. If you are able to share it on your social media, that would make me so happy.
