<div>11/28/23 -- Hi Everyone! We wanted to share a little update. <strong>Prudence is officially in hospice at Meadowview Rehabilitation And Nursing Center.</strong> Prudence decided that she wants to now share that the doctors are saying that she has 3-6 months. It's really hard and sad, and it's been really taxing on Prudence and her family, but she is still so solid and positive through it all. She has been saying #PrudenceStrong! We are so lucky to know Prudence and we need to make sure she is surrounded by love and support now more than ever. She is also happy that she is now getting the 24 hour support she needs.

<div>Nothing is better in this time than spending it with the people she loves or getting a sweet note or message. She also wanted to share that the other day she stood up on her own and walked for the first time in months! She was also able to spend some time with her kids for Thanksgiving. Please keep thinking of her, visiting, sending cards, meals, anything helps! It will also be her birthday next week if you want to send her anything extra special. In addition to donating here, Prudence really appreciates DoorDash gift cards so that she can get food that she likes which is much better than eating hospital food! <div><strong>6/19/2023 </strong>-- <strong>Dear friends, our wonderful Prudence has received the terrible news that her brain cancer is back, stage 4, and aggressive and she needs our help! We are now using this page to focus on her medical costs and legal fees. Please consider supporting her right now. </strong>

<div>Unfortunately, a few months ago, doctors found new tumors in Prudence brain. She has since gone through new rounds of radiation which she completed last month. However, three days ago she was urgently sent to the ER with tremors and stroke symptoms. She was actually supposed to get an MRI the day before, but she doesn’t have insurance so the hospital canceled the appointment. (wtf!) <strong>Yesterday, she received the news that it is aggressive stage 4 brain cancer. </strong>

<div>Our hearts are aching for Prudence and her family right now. She is still at the hospital and is awaiting updates on her treatment plan. However, we know that she has another battle ahead of her, but this time she is having a lot of trouble with her health insurance. She will be on Medicaid which will kick in on August 1st, but the PCP and specialists do not accept her insurance. She also had to stop working during her last battle and this time doesn't have paid leave. In this same week that she has found out about her stage 4 cancer she has had to be on the phone with numerous insurance and hospital lines trying to navigate her care while bouncing between different insurances. Prudence has been an advocate for so many and right now we need to fight for her as she faces this broken healthcare system.

<div>Thank you so much for your continued love and support for Prudence! Prudence has been fighting cancer like the warrior queen she is every single day. She just <strong>completed 6 taxing weeks of radiation today</strong>! Check out this picture of her ringing the bell as a celebration of her final day of treatment. We all know how strong Prudence is, but this has not been easy. She has been in a lot of pain and it has not been easy dealing with administrative barriers since her diagnosis. Fortunately, they are giving her a month to rest and take care of herself before she goes through the next intensive stage of treatment: <strong>Chemotherapy</strong>. Our support cannot stop now. <strong>Please continue your support by sending funds, bringing meals, giving hugs, praying, and any other way you can show up for our girl!</strong> Share this page! <div><strong>[UPDATE 2/14/22] </strong>

<div>A few weeks ago we received the terrible news that Prudence's brain tumor is cancer. <strong>Prudence was diagnosed with stage 3 Astrocytoma and is about to embark on an intensive treatment process.</strong> She will be starting radiation followed by chemotherapy in the coming months. Prudence could really use your continued love, support, and prayers. If you are able to make an additional donation, please do, and continue to spread the word. We will also be starting a meal train (link below) to support Prudence and her family as she goes through treatment. Her doctor advised that she eat high fiber, low sugar meals. If you have spoken to Prudence recently you know that she is still the most loving and faithful person, checking in on others despite this terrible news. Even though Prudence has already gone through so much she continues to be strong for her children and community. She is a light in our world and I hope that we can all continue to be there for her more than ever.

<div>After not feeling her best for months, Prudence was suddenly taken to the hospital last weekend and learned that she had a <em>tumor the size of an orange</em> on her brain. She was sent into a 7-hour surgery at Jefferson Hospital which successfully removed the tumor! However, within the first week of her recovery she is already being forced to think about bills, insurance, paying for the surgery etc. <strong>These stressors are preventing her from much needed time to rest, recover, and heal. </strong>

<div>If you know anything about Prudence, you know that she always puts others before herself. She's just out of surgery and already asking us how <em>we </em>are doing! But it's time <em>we</em> are there for her. She is an incredible mother, friend, neighbor and person in this world. She is also probably the most resilient, faithful, loyal, and strong person out there. She is a fighter for her community, she is an organizer for immigrant rights, and she is a faithful member of her church. She is also an incredible single mother to two amazing kids. <strong>She has gone through so much in her life and yet she continues to put so much love and light into this world. </strong>
