Help give kids at BC Children's Hospital creative supplies!

Hi, my name is Melina! I'm a student in SD43 who's hoping to take initiative and create meaningful change in my community. With my project, Creativity 4 Community, I would like to fundraise to give children with limited access to creative supplies a chance to embrace their inner creativity and ultimately be happier.

Since I am under 18, my parents will be helping manage this GoFundMe campaign and handling the funds. I will personally purchase arts and crafts supplies with the funds and assemble "Creativity Kits," with instructions on making specific crafts using the supplies provided in the kits. I will then donate these kits to the BC Children's Hospital to distribute them among children to provide entertainment, fun, and good times!

This cause is important to me as I love making the people around me happy and contributing to my community in this way. All kids deserve to have fun, explore, and express themselves creatively - regardless of their circumstance. Having spent time at the BC Children's Hospital before, I understand how being in such an environment can impact one's mood. However, doing arts and crafts at the hospital put a smile on my face, and I believe it will do the same for others. Especially when it may be challenging to find a silver lining, giving back in a way that brings a smile and helps children forget their pain, even for a moment, is tremendously valuable to me.
