Help Priyanka undergo Spleen Surgery
Priyanka Mukherjee is a 19-year-old college freshman who lives in India suffers from Thalassemia, a blood disorder where the body cannot produce enough red blood cells.
While this disease is usually curable, Priyanka has Thalassemia Major, the most severe form of the disorder. She has had to get blood transfusions regularly for her whole life.
However, as the transfusions get more frequent, her body can adapt less and less to the treatment. If the transfusions become a weekly ordeal, she may not be able to survive for much longer.
Doctors are requiring an immediate spleen operation to reduce the blood transfusions to once every two to three months. Priyanka’s parents do not have enough money to pay for the operation cost which is over 250,000 Indian rupees.
Luckily, 250,000 rupees translates to roughly $4,500.
If we raise the amount by February 1st, Priyanka can undergo surgery immediately and resume a semi-normal life.
Please donate, repost and spread the word so we can help Priyanka beat this disease.
