Ons FIRST Tech Challenge team Pretty Smart Robotics heeft voor een fantastische prestatie gezorgd door zich te kwalificeren voor het WK in Houston, Texas in de Vereningde Staten. Dat WK wordt gehouden van 19-22 april 2023.

<div>De FIRST Tech Challenge is een wereldwijde competitie waar kinderen tussen de 13 en 18 robots ontwerpen en bouwen voor wedstrijden. Die robots zijn daarbij meer een middel dan een doel. De competitie is vooral jury-gericht: het werkelijke doel is het leren van een groot aantal belangrijke vaardigheden voor succes op school, maar zeker ook voor later in een beroep. Denk daarbij aan plannen, organiseren, kritisch denken, oplossingsgerichtheid, communicatie. maar uiteraard ook aan ontwerpen, techniek, programmeren, etc van de robot. Een FTC-team is eigenlijk een mini tech-bedrijfje met daarin alle rollen van Engineer en programmeur tot PR en communicatie, HR en management!

<div>Team 16441 Pretty Smart Robotics heeft dit seizoen laten zien in alle bovenstaande categorieën te excelleren, en een voorbeeldrol binnen de FTC-community te vervullen. Daarmee hebben de de hoogst mogelijke award, de INSPIRE award, gewonnen en mogen ze Nederland vertegenwoordigen op het FTC World Festival in Texas.
