Help Porter come home to CT after her stroke

Donation protected
On July 29, 2020 Porter Boots suffered a debilitating stroke. She spent a month in the hospital and is now in a rehabilitative hospital in Charleston, SC, far from her support network of family in Connecticut.  Porter can speak to some extent, but her short-term memory is extremely limited, which prevents her from functioning the way she could previously. Porter will likely need supportive care for the rest of her life due to the severity of her stroke.

We really believe that moving Porter near to her family in Connecticut is the best option, but her care is funded by Medicaid, and the process of getting her out of the South Carolina system and into a long-term care facility in Connecticut is going to be complicated and expensive.  The biggest expenses are attorney fees necessary to get her sister Alexandra designated as her legal guardian.

Once Porter has someone who can advocate for her and make decisions about her care, we are confident we can get her home!  All donations will go directly towards getting Porter back home, and to secure long-term care for her future. Any amount helps....thank you so much for giving!
